Material Specialist

Take lead on material strategy for new and existing cable design
Working closely with our customers NKT develops and manufactures efficient, sustainable, and technologically advanced LV and MV cables for the increasing electricity demand all over the world. 
As our material specialist, you will be responsible for providing knowledge about materials used for both the new design of cables as well as supporting and driving investigations of material-related issues concerning both products and production. Doing so, you will keep a holistic perspective on the interdependencies between materials in cable design and production and be a trusted advisor to other colleagues in the R&D organization. It means you will be the one blocking or releasing materials for future solutions.

 

 

Besides the above you would also handle tasks like:

  • Testing and verification of the functionality of the product
  • Technical approval of material and suppliers
  • Laboratory analysis and investigations of materials
  • Perform material specifications and give technical support in material-related issues

 

 

You will be part of our Product Development and R&D team for LV and MV cables. The team members are all located at our different production sites all over Europe, and this position we prefer to locate at our production site in Asnaes, Denmark.

 

 

Curious and solution-oriented engineer with a collaborative mindset 
To thrive in this role, you are an analytical problem solver with the ability to interact with many different stakeholders. Your cooperation with colleagues from Quality, Production and Product Development is as outstanding as your knowledge and mapping of external suppliers. You are capable of being hands-on in the laboratory as well as tactical working with standards and testing methods.

 

 

Additionally, your CV ideally includes:

  • B.Sc in material science or similar, e.g. Chemical engineer
  • Experience with polymer
  • Danish and English language fluently
