HV and MV Cable Jointer

Install and support critical power cable systems

Join NKT’s Service team in Australia and contribute to reliable energy infrastructure through HV and MV cable jointing and installation projects. This role offers the opportunity to work across Australia and New Zealand, supporting customers with cable accessories, installation activities, and technical guidance while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and environmental performance. Deliver safe and high-quality cable installation services

As an HV and MV Cable Jointer, you will support installation projects and service activities across Australia and New Zealand. You will install cable accessories, provide technical support when required, and help ensure projects are completed in accordance with scope, quality requirements, and HSEQ standards. The position includes solo work as well as collaboration with project teams at a range of customer sites, helping keep electrical networks operating reliably.

Your responsibility will be to:

  • Install HV and MV cable accessories across Australia and New Zealand
  • Follow company procedures, industry standards, and safe systems of work
  • Deliver quality workmanship in accordance with installation requirements
  • Support customers with technical advice and onsite assistance when requested
  • Assist with project completion, emergency call-outs, and site management activities

This position is based in Brisbane, Australia, reporting to the Product & Installation Manager Australia and New Zealand. Extensive travel is required, primarily within Australia, with approximately 200+ travel days per year.

You also have:

  • Completed trade qualification
  • Certificate III in ESI - Power Systems - Distribution Cable Jointing or Certificate III in Electrotechnology
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Cable Jointer
  • MV Jointing certification and experience up to 42kV (mandatory)
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • HV Jointing certification and experience up to 220kV
