Then we have the right job for you! An exciting role as Category Manager within our Direct Materials team is now vacant. The team consists of 12 highly engaged category managers, having an open, informal atmosphere where knowledge sharing, continuous development, and genuine interest in creating real value-adding sourcing solutions to the business is in focus. Support the growing demand for materials

 

As a procurement category manager, you will be at the center of our efforts in providing meaningful strategic procurement solutions to the business, catering to our plants located throughout Europe. Effectively, you will be the partner to the business on strategic procurement matters within your category, having the full global end-to-end responsibility.

Your role will be to:

  • Define and own all category management activities within your assigned categories
  • Be the supply market expert and partner to the business
  • Develop and regularly update the category strategy and project pipeline
  • Continuously develop the supplier portfolio to match the increasing requirements, securing sufficient external capacity
  • Facilitate and lead supplier relationship management and key supplier partnerships
  • Negotiate valuable supply agreements, utilizing internal and market intelligence on materials, carbon footprint, cost drivers etc.

This role can be placed at our HQ in Greater Copenhagen Area, Malmö, Cologne, or Kaunas. Some travel, primarily within Europe, is to be expected.

 

Curious and collaborative category management professional

 

To grow in this role, you thrive on opportunities and broad organizational exposure. You possess curiosity, professional authority, and strategic category management skills to engage effectively with the business and suppliers. You navigate across borders and cultures, translating business needs into sound sourcing solutions. With a positive mindset, you focus on opportunities and have well-developed commercial and strategic skills.

You also have:

  • University degree within Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or similar
  • Minimum +5 years of experience within strategic procurement category management of direct materials in a larger international manufacturing company
  • High level proficiency in English - both verbal and written
