Design and validate submarine cable accessories using FEA

Support R&D and customer projects with mechanical and thermal simulations using Ansys, contributing to the development of submarine cable accessories for demanding offshore applications. This position offers the opportunity to work in a global engineering environment focused on reliable energy solutions and the green transition. Perform structural and thermal simulations for cable accessories

You will support R&D and customer projects by conducting finite element analysis within structural mechanics and thermal domains. The role involves verifying mechanical designs, evaluating simulation results, and comparing findings with test data while contributing to model validation and improvement.

Your responsibility will be to:

  • Perform FEA analysis of cable accessories and ancillary components
  • Prepare and document technical reports for internal and external stakeholders
  • Support development and optimization of equipment design based on simulation results
  • Contribute to methodology development and validation of simulation models
  • Collaborate with engineering, R&D teams, and external reviewers

You will work closely with Simulation Services, Accessories R&D, and engineering teams, with reporting to internal and external stakeholders including third-party reviewers. The position is based in Chennai, India.

Detail-oriented professional with collaborative and methodical approach

You are structured, detail-oriented, and methodical in your approach to problem-solving. You are comfortable working with deadlines while maintaining accuracy and quality. You communicate clearly with different stakeholders and can work in a self-managed way while contributing effectively within a team environment.

You also have:

  • Master’s degree in mechanical engineering or similar
  • 2–3 years of experience in mechanical analysis and simulations
  • Experience with Ansys FEA software
  • Knowledge of offshore standards such as DNV or API
  • Experience with Matlab or similar tools
