HR Director
Oversee HR function for India

As the HR Director for India, you will be responsible for aligning HR processes with NKT’s global standards while balancing local requirements and adherence to local labour laws. Implement strategic HR initiatives and cultivate a collaborative culture
In this role, you will be responsible for the HR function in India with around 200+ employees, ensuring alignment with NKT’s global HR processes, driving business critical initiatives and ensuring compliance to local labour laws.
Your role will involve:
- Acting as a trusted business partner to the India leadership team on all people-related matters.
- Working closely with the leadership team of NKT India to create an organizational culture that reflects NKT’s values.
- Partnering with business managers to prepare business cases for new teams and plan for their execution.
- Working closely with local and global stakeholders in ensuring hiring requirements are fulfilled for the unit
- Implementing and monitoring people processes such as talent review, performance management, and employee development programs.
- Developing and managing succession planning for key roles within the organization.
You will report to the VP, Head of NKT Operations India, and the Sr Director, HR Denmark and Global Functions (Matrix). The position is based in Chennai and involves domestic and international travel (10-15 days per year).
Experienced HR leader with a strategic mindset
We are looking for an experienced HR leader with a strategic mindset and effective relationship-building skills.
You should have:
- A minimum of 10 years of experience as an HR generalist with deep exposure to talent management processes.
- Experienced in overseeing all aspects of the talent acquisition process.
- Experience in handling payroll and HR compliances.
- Experience working in a multinational corporation (MNC) and collaborating with global stakeholders is an advantage
- Proficient communication skills in English, Tamil, and Hindi (preferred).
You also have:
- A master’s degree in social work (MSW) or an MBA in HR or equivalent
- Proficient leadership abilities to delegate work and motivate the team.
- The ability to build and maintain working relationships and networks.
- Effective communication skills across different levels, both internally and externally.
- An engaged approach to cross-functional teamwork.
