
Manage document control operations across global projects
Are you interested in coordinating document control activities that support major international projects and tenders? As Document Control Team Manager, you will oversee document management processes, team coordination, and contractual documentation requirements while contributing to NKT’s continued growth and the green transition. This role offers the opportunity to work with global stakeholders, support process improvement, and ensure high-quality document governance across projects.
Coordinate document control processes and team delivery
As Document Control Team Manager, you will coordinate the Document Control Team on functional topics while ensuring documentation is prepared, managed, and delivered in accordance with contractual requirements, customer expectations, and NKT standards. You will work closely with project, tender, and operational teams to establish document management processes, monitor documentation workflows, and support continuous improvement initiatives. The role combines people management, resource planning, governance activities, and document control responsibilities when required.
Your responsibility will be to:
- Coordinate work allocation, execution, and delivery within the Document Control Team
- Oversee document management systems, transmittals, archives, and documentation workflows
- Ensure compliance with contractual document requirements, standards, and internal procedures
- Support recruitment, performance evaluation, training, and development activities within the team
- Monitor document status, lifecycle activities, and project documentation quality
The position is based in Chennai, India. Occasional domestic or international travel may be required depending on project and customer requirements. You will work closely with the Head of Operations, Functional Manager, project teams, customers, contractors, and suppliers across multiple countries.
Experienced document control professional with team management background
You are structured, communicative, and comfortable working with multiple stakeholders in an international environment. You can manage priorities effectively, maintain attention to detail, and support colleagues in a collaborative manner. You work effectively with minimal supervision when needed while contributing positively to team activities. You are experienced in managing documentation processes, addressing challenges, and ensuring consistent ways of working across projects and tenders.
You also have:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Arts, Science, or Engineering
- 15+ years of Document Control experience
- Team management experience with responsibility for people and work allocation
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat DC
- Experience working with M-Files, SharePoint, or other Document Management Systems (DMS)
- Swedish or German language knowledge
