Master Data Analyst, Operations

We are looking for an Operational Data Analyst to join our growing Master Data Management team in Chennai, India. In this role, you will support the operations domain by managing, analyzing, and improving master data, ensuring its quality and consistency while enabling seamless integration across systems. Your contributions will directly impact decision-making and operational efficiency across key areas like supply chain, production, and inventory management.
Primary Responsibilities
- Master Data Support: Assist the Master Data Management (MDM) team with tasks related to data cleansing, quality measurement, and overall data management.
- Documentation: Help create and maintain clear documentation of data definitions, processes, and standards.
- Data Validation: Conduct thorough analysis and validation of master data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
- System Integration: Support the integration of master data across systems, ensuring seamless and consistent data flow.
- Data Profiling: Utilize data profiling techniques to identify anomalies, duplicates, and inconsistencies within datasets.
- Issue Resolution: Investigate data quality issues and perform root cause analysis to address underlying problems.
- Reporting & Insights: Generate reports and dashboards to provide insights into data quality metrics, trends, and improvement opportunities.
- Data Migration: Support data migration projects by mapping, cleansing, and validating data to facilitate smooth transitions.
- Collaboration: Work closely with Master Data Stewards, data owners in the business, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment on operational data needs and improvements.
Qualifications

Professional Skills:
- 3+ years of experience in data analysis, preferably in an operational or supply chain context.
- Expertise in cleaning, maintaining, and analyzing accurate and reliable data.
- Proficiency in tools such as Excel, SQL, and data visualization platforms (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
- Experience with ERP systems and operational master data (e.g., SAP, S4 Hana) is highly advantageous.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and provide actionable insights.
- Knowledge of operational data processes such as inventory management, production planning, and vendor management.
- Familiarity with data quality standards, profiling techniques, and root cause analysis methodologies.
- Skill in supporting the consistent integration of data across different systems.
- Proficiency in creating reports and dashboards to track data quality and trends.
- Experience assisting with mapping, cleaning, and validating data during migration projects.
