Support strategic tendering in global energy projects

At NKT, we are looking for a Legal Counsel to join our Corporate Affairs team and support our Solutions business area. This is a unique opportunity to work closely with international colleagues on high-value tenders and contracts. You will play a key role in ensuring legal excellence in our tendering processes, while gaining deep insights into EPCI contracts and the dynamics of a global organization. Contribute to tendering processes
Review, draft and support strategic customer contracts Over time, you will take on more responsibilities, contributing to the legal strategy and execution of major energy projects.
Your task will be to:
- Review, draft, and support customer contracts in common-law jurisdictions
- Collaborate with the PLC team and business units to evaluate tenders
- Ensure compliance with internal approval processes and legal standards
- Provide day-to-day legal counselling on NDAs, integrity, and Code of Conduct
- Participate in lessons learned and best practice sharing within the legal team
You will report to the VP Projects and Large Contracts and work closely with colleagues across Corporate Affairs and Solutions. The position is based in Chennai, with potential for remote collaboration.
Skilled legal professional with international mindset Collaborative and engaged legal thinker with good communication skills We are looking for a person who thrives in an international environment and is motivated to grow within a collaborative legal team.
You enjoy working closely with others, yet you know when to take initiative and manage your responsibilities. Your ability to connect with people at all levels will be key to your role.
You also have:
- A Master of Law degree from a common-law country
- 8-15 years of experience in business law, from an international law firm or in-house legal team
- Solid knowledge of EPCI contracts
- Good English communication skills, both written and spoken
- Experience studying or working in Europe, Australia, or the USA will be advantage.
