Senior SAP Consultant - COPA (Profitability Analysis)

As Senior SAP Consultant – CO PA (Profitability Analysis), you will design, configure, and optimize account-based CO‑PA and S/4HANA Margin Analysis (ACDOCA) to deliver accurate, timely contribution margin insights that enable smarter pricing, product mix, and strategic decisions. Design and optimize CO‑PA in S/4HANA

In this role, you will translate complex finance and business requirements into robust CO‑PA and Margin Analysis designs, ensuring harmonized revenue, cost, and margin views for decision-making. You will own operating concern structures, characteristics and value fields, derivation strategies, valuation logic, allocations, and settlement designs, while integrating with SD, MM, PP, and FI. You will safeguard closing processes, incident/problem resolution, and partner with BI/Analytics on data extraction and reporting models (e.g., BW/4HANA, SAP Analytics Cloud). You will manage enhancements and change requests from impact assessment through deployment, supported by comprehensive documentation, testing strategies, and governance.

Your responsibility will be to:
•    Design and configure operating concerns, characteristics, value fields, derivations, valuation, and settlements.
•    Optimize account‑based CO‑PA and Margin Analysis (ACDOCA) with revenue recognition and cost flows.
•    Define consistent profitability dimensions across customer, product, region, project, and contract.
•    Manage allocations/assessments, top‑down distributions, and overhead costing transparency.
•    Ensure stable month‑/year‑end CO‑PA closes, reconciliations with FI, and performance in reporting.

Based in G3C Chennai within Group IT, reporting to the Senior Manager – IT. You will collaborate closely with FICO, BI/Analytics, architects, and global process owners across Europe. International travel for trainings may be required.

You also have:
•    8+ years SAP CO‑PA/Controlling experience, incl. S/4HANA account‑based CO‑PA/Margin Analysis.
•    Designed and configured operating concerns, characteristics, value fields, derivations, valuation, settlements.
•    Robust integration with SD billing, MM movements, PP orders, FI postings, and overhead accounting (cost centers, internal orders, WBS).
•    Month‑/year‑end CO/CO‑PA close experience with FI reconciliations, variance analysis, and management reporting.
•    Deep understanding of S/4HANA Universal Journal (ACDOCA) and implications for Margin Analysis and reporting.
•    Familiarity with BW/4HANA or SAP Analytics Cloud for CO‑PA data consumption.
