Job Description

Procurement of installation services for global cable projects

 

Are you interested in sourcing and contract management for large-scale onshore and offshore installation projects? Join NKT's Transmission business and support tender and execution projects for High Voltage Cable systems. In this role, you will work closely with global stakeholders, suppliers, and project teams to identify and secure installation services that balance methodology, risk, experience, and commercial value. Manage procurement activities for complex installation projects

 

As a Tactical Procurement Specialist – Installation Service, you will support procurement activities across both tender and execution projects. Working alongside Category Managers and Project Procurement Managers, you will evaluate suppliers, conduct market analysis, manage RFx processes, negotiate contracts, and support contract administration. The role offers exposure to international procurement activities, installation services, and major infrastructure projects within the energy sector. You will collaborate with technical specialists, project teams, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to ensure procurement activities align with project requirements and business objectives.

 

Your responsibility will be to:

 

  • Translate customer and project requirements into supplier requests and RFx documentation
  • Evaluate suppliers, technologies, methods, and new geographical markets
  • Conduct market analysis, supplier assessments, and financial evaluations
  • Negotiate, draft, finalise, and administer contracts with suppliers and subcontractors
  • Support supplier onboarding, registration, and contract lifecycle activities

 

The position is based in Chennai, India, reporting to the Senior Manager, Procurement Competence Centre. International travel of up to 15 days per year may be required based on business needs.

 

Collaborative procurement professional with global mindset

 

You enjoy working with people across different functions, cultures, and locations. You are organized and comfortable managing multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail. You communicate clearly with stakeholders and suppliers and take a structured approach to evaluating options and solving challenges. The role suits someone who is curious, open to new ways of working, and motivated to improve processes while working in an international environment.

 

You also have:

 

  • Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or equivalent education
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Tactical or Strategic Procurement for EPC contracts
  • Experience in contract administration and contract lifecycle management
  • Experience in global sourcing and international commercial terms
  • Knowledge of SAP Ariba, SAP MM, and MS Office
  • Experience within EPC, Installation, Construction, CAPEX, Oil  amp; Gas, Civil, or Offshore projects
