Head of Site Management Large Projects

Ensure safe and efficient large project execution

Are you interested in overseeing the on-site execution of major power cable installation projects across Europe? As Head of Site Management, you will play a key role in ensuring safe, standardised and efficient project delivery while supporting the green transition through critical energy infrastructure. This is an opportunity to join NKT’s Grid Solutions business and contribute to the development of a high-performing site management organisation within a global company.

Coordinate site execution across major energy projects

As Head of Site Management, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe, high-quality and efficient execution of power cable installation projects. You will manage the Site Management function, support the development of people and processes, and work closely with project, installation, sales and resource management teams. The role combines operational oversight, team management and long-term planning to ensure projects are staffed appropriately and delivered in line with quality, budget and time requirements.

Your responsibility will be to:

• Manage the allocation and deployment of Site Managers across projects
• Ensure safe, compliant and high-quality site execution activities
• Develop and support Site Managers through coaching, training and people management
• Improve site management processes, digital documentation and Procore utilisation
• Coordinate subcontracted Site Management services and relevant contracts

The position is based in Troisdorf/Köln, Germany, and includes approximately 60–100 travel days per year. You will report to the Director Large Projects Execution and work closely with cross-functional teams across Europe. You will manage a team of nine Site Managers, support the development of people and processes, and work closely with project, installation, sales and resource management teams.

You take a structured and pragmatic approach to challenges and remain calm when priorities change. With clear communication and a team-oriented mindset, you create an environment where people can contribute effectively while maintaining a focus on safety, quality and continuous improvement.

You also have:

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering or a comparable field
• Several years of experience in project management or site management of linear construction projects
• Knowledge of HSE standards and requirements in Germany, Benelux and other European markets
• Professional proficiency in German and English
• Experience with MS Office, SAP and project/site management tools
• Extensive experience in high-voltage cable installation is advantageous
