Take technical ownership of superconducting cable systems
As a Junior Engineer Superconducting Cable Systems, you will be responsible for the technical development of proposals and projects with a focus on superconducting land cable systems. You will work closely with experienced colleagues and develop solutions that pave the way to a greener future.
Your responsibility will be to:
- Analyze tenders for technical feasibility and coordinate with internal departments
- Design and develop HTS cable systems including layout, calculations, and documentation
- Prepare technical proposal documents and support technical negotiations
- Manage technical project tasks and review external documentation
- Support sales with technical inquiries and prequalification processes
You will work in an international engineering team and report to the Head of Engineering. The position is based in Cologne, with the possibility of mobile working.

You are a curious, structured, and team-oriented individual who enjoys taking responsibility and wants to grow in an international environment. You bring enthusiasm for innovative technologies and want to actively contribute to the green transformation. Strong communication skills, flexibility, and a solution-oriented mindset define you.
You also have:
- A completed Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering
- Excellent German and English skills, both written and spoken
- Experience with Microsoft 365, Microsoft Project, and SAP
- Knowledge of COMSOL, MATLAB, and ideally programming skills
- Initial experience in high-voltage or energy technology
