Job Description

Strategic Project Procurement Manager

Shape procurement strategies for critical energy infrastructure projects

Are you interested in managing procurement activities for major high-voltage cable projects across the CeMeA Hub? As Strategic Project Procurement Manager, you will coordinate project-related services, subcontractors and temporary construction infrastructure, ensuring timely, cost-effective and risk-managed delivery. This is an opportunity to contribute to the green transition within a global organisation while working closely with project teams and suppliers across multiple countries. Do you want to play a key role in delivering complex energy projects?

Manage project procurement across international construction projects

As Strategic Project Procurement Manager, you will own the procurement workstream for project execution activities and act as the primary contact between project teams, suppliers, subcontractors and category management. You will develop procurement strategies, oversee supplier selection and contractual activities, and support the delivery of high-voltage cable projects through proactive planning and risk management. The role combines commercial, technical and operational perspectives to ensure procurement activities align with project requirements and compliance standards.

Your responsibility will be to:

  • Develop project-specific procurement strategies and sourcing concepts
  • Identify, qualify and manage suppliers and subcontractors
  • Negotiate contracts and manage supplier agreements
  • Monitor supplier performance, quality, delivery and HSE requirements
  • Support procurement governance, risk management and claims processes

The position is based in Troisdorf, Cologne or Berlin and includes approximately 20–30 days of travel per year. You will report to the Head of Project Support and Services and collaborate with project, commercial, engineering and supply chain teams.

Commercially minded procurement professional for complex projects

You are a collaborative and reliable person who enjoys working with a range of stakeholders and balancing different priorities. You take a structured and solution-focused approach, remain calm in complex situations and communicate clearly across technical, commercial and contractual topics. You value teamwork, maintain a broad perspective and contribute positively to a safe and compliant working environment.

You also have:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Administration, Construction Management or equivalent
  • 5–10 years of experience in strategic, project or construction procurement
  • Experience managing subcontractors and service providers in project environments
  • Fluency in German and English
  • Experience working with SAP and MS Office tools
  • Formal certification such as CIPS, WorldCC/IACCM, PMP, IPMA or equivalent (preferred)
