
Coordinate project documentation across global teams

As a Document Controller within NKT’s Grid Solutions business line, you will play a key role in ensuring project and tender documentation is managed, reviewed and delivered according to contractual requirements, quality standards and timelines. Working with international project teams, customers and suppliers, you will contribute to efficient document management processes that support the delivery of high-voltage cable projects. Manage project documentation with quality and accuracy
As a Document Controller, you will be responsible for coordinating documentation processes across projects and tenders, ensuring compliance with contractual requirements, internal procedures and document standards. You will manage document workflows, maintain document control systems and support project teams with document administration activities. The role requires close collaboration with customers, suppliers and colleagues across different countries and sites to ensure documentation is handled accurately and efficiently throughout the project lifecycle.
Your responsibility will be to:
- Own document control processes within assigned projects and tenders
- Manage document reviews, approvals, filing and transmittals in accordance with contractual requirements
- Monitor document status, maintain document lists and report progress to project and tender managers
- Prepare, compile and submit final documentation packages according to contract requirements
- Support continuous improvement of document management processes, systems and procedures
This position is based in Chennai, India, and reports to the Head of Document Control, with a functional reporting line to assigned Project Managers. Limited travel may be required depending on project and customer requirements.
Detail-oriented communicator with collaborative approach
You are a person who works accurately and remains organised when managing multiple priorities. You communicate clearly with a wide range of stakeholders and are comfortable following established processes while also identifying areas for improvement. You are effective at raising concerns, maintaining document quality standards and supporting colleagues across project teams. You enjoy working both on your own and collaboratively and are open to learning new tools and systems.
You also have:
- Experience in document control and document management
- Experience reading and understanding contracts or other complex documentation
- Fluent English, both written and spoken
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Experience using document management systems such as M-Files or SharePoint
