As a Buyer at NKT, you will play an important part in securing the materials and services needed to support production and maintenance activities. Working within a global organisation contributing to the green transition, you will help maintain efficient procurement processes, support supply chain continuity, and collaborate with colleagues across functions. Support efficient purchasing and supply chain continuity
In this role, you will manage day-to-day procurement activities across multiple categories, ensuring timely purchasing, compliance with company procedures, and good service for internal stakeholders. You will work with tools such as SAP, eSourcing platforms, and NKT Market Place while supporting transactional efficiency and sharing insights with Category Teams to improve planning and procurement performance.
Your responsibility will be to:
- Secure on-time delivery of materials and services while supporting the Zero Metal Strategy.
- Ensure compliance with purchasing processes and Central Purchasing guidelines.
- Execute operational purchases through eSourcing tools and maintain accurate procurement documentation.
- Communicate sourcing outcomes to internal stakeholders and escalate risks when required.
- Maintain effective cooperation with Category Teams to optimise demand planning and supplier performance.
This position is based in Esposende. You will report to the Supply Chain Director and work closely with colleagues across the organisation.
Structured procurement professional with collaborative approach
You are organised, consistent, and comfortable working in an environment with changing priorities. You communicate clearly, build positive working relationships, and approach challenges in a practical and solution-focused way. You can manage multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail and high service standards. You enjoy working with colleagues from different functions and locations and contribute positively to a team-oriented environment.
You also have:
- Previous experience in purchasing, supply chain, or logistics within an industrial environment
- Knowledge of Incoterms and negotiation practices
- Experience with contract law or contract management
- Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel
- English language proficiency
- Knowledge of SAP
