Graduate Engineer Programme 2026 - Electrical & Power Engineering (Portugal)

We are looking for recently graduated or soon-to-be graduates with a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, Electrotechnical Engineering, or a closely related field to join our Graduate Engineer Programme at NKT in Esposende.

Your role in Esposende

You will be based at our production site in Esposende, Portugal, where we manufacture high-quality cable solutions. The site is a key part of NKT’s European operations and offers practical exposure to real engineering challenges in a production environment.

This programme is designed for graduates who want to build a solid technical career in electrical and power engineering, combining theory with practical application.

About the Graduate Programme

The programme starts in September 2026 and lasts 18 months. You will receive a permanent contract from day one.

During the programme, you will:

• Rotate across different engineering and technical functions
• Work on real business challenges within production and engineering
• Take part in an international rotation
• Work on an important project backed by senior leadership
• Participate in structured training modules with other graduates

The goal is to provide you with a solid technical foundation and a deep understanding of NKT’s core business, preparing you for a long-term career within the company.

Who we are looking for

We are looking for motivated graduates with a clear interest in electrical systems, power transmission, and industrial production.

Your profile

• Master’s degree in: Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering / Energy Engineering, Electrotechnical Engineering, or a closely related technical field
• Keen interest in working in a manufacturing or industrial environment
• Motivated, structured, and willing to learn
• Fluency in English and good knowledge of Portuguese
• Legal right to work in Portugal
