Sales & Project Controller

 

 

Own end-to-end financial process within assigned areas. Drive financial performance management agenda. Act as finance business partner with insightful and constructive analysis and observations. Ensure that role related activities are completed on time, accurately and with sufficient amount of back-up documentation. Actively participate in process changes, improvements, and efficiency activities.

 

What can you expect from the position?

•    Ensure accurate actual data are reflected in ERP for month/quarter or year end. Maintain accurate and insightful reporting in timely manner.
•    Data gathering to support budget / forecast process: template preparation, prefilling & first analysis.
•    Pro-actively solve or escalate issues.
•    Be the first PoC for Project teams in terms of reporting, analysis and provide the right guidance.
•    Build and maintain close relationship with internal stakeholders at all levels of the organization. Support decision making by providing analysis to the management and other stakeholders.
•    Ensure profitability and cost awareness within the scope of responsibility, challenge and follow-up expenses when needed.
•    Provide support and guidance to reporting analysts, other junior or other team colleagues.
•    Identify opportunities, facilitate process improvement and standardization initiatives to deliver better control, efficiency, quality and accurate reporting & analysis.
•    Controlling in the project bidding phase: checking the bidding calculation in RCL/CPQ tool, the cash flow, as well as planning the payment milestones, price lists and the costs.
•    Controlling in the project execution phase: checking SAP project data, have 1:1 with project managers, deliver financial support to project mgmt. and execution teams.
•    Definition of measures to achieve targets (especially project revenues and results) and tracking of implementation in coordination with the business partner.
•    Risk management for the respective area, consultation with the business partner and setting up/further development of early warning systems. 
•    Project-related intercompany reconciliation with affiliated companies regarding transfer prices, sales, earnings and cash flow. 
•    Support for tax and auditors, internal tax and treasury departments. 
•    Prepare and regularly update Standard Operating Procedures related documents (SOP).
•    Other position related ad-hoc tasks.
•    Complete other position related tasks delegated by line manager/ dotted line manager.

 

What do we expect from the candidate?

•    3+ years of experience in Finance, Controlling or FP&A; experience in industrial controlling is beneficial.

•    Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related discipline, higher commercial certificate or similar.
•    Ability to work to a tight schedule.
•    Business mindset, being able to understand the drivers within the business, attempting to question assumptions, skilled in identifying cost saving/ profitability improvement opportunities.
•    Experience working independently, owning processes, can effectively understand and set requirements.
•    Motivated, having keen desire to learn, develop and be challenged, developing processes improvement.
•    Personal initiative, strong goal and result orientation and “hands-on” mentality.
•    High communication skills, ability to act as sounding board for stakeholders, can handle various groups of stakeholders, supporting their decisions with financial insights.
•    Advanced level of MS Excel, MS Power Point and other MS Office skills.
•    Experience working with SAP (or any other major ERP) and business insights tools (Business Warehouse) is advantageous.
•    Fluent written and spoken English, knowledge of German language would be a benefit.

Salary range for this position is from 3300 Eur to 4600 Eur brutto.
