As a central player in the global transition towards renewable energy, NKT is continuously reducing the environmental impact of its activities. To be able to move faster we are now expanding and strengthening our organisation with a Sustainability Manager, including social sustainability, with a focus on social value for High Voltage Solutions in the UK (based in North Scotland).
In this role you will be part of developing and supporting the implementation of NKT's Sustainability strategy towards our business line. You will also support our daily business to ensure a timely and correct reporting of our sustainability data. You will be working closely with a network of internal and external stakeholders, including a team of environmental specialists and sustainability experts committed to advancing our business toward our targets. You are expected to serve as the primary point of contact for sustainability on the projects, ensuring alignment with the client’s expectations and requirements.
As a dedicated Social Value Lead you will commit to delivering a meaningful, measurable impact across our projects. In this role, you’ll be responsible for embedding social value into every stage of the project lifecycle — from planning and procurement to delivery and legacy. You’ll work closely with project teams, local stakeholders, and supply chains to drive initiatives such as local employment, apprenticeships, community engagement, and sustainability. Significant impact on our business
- Continue the development and implementation of our Sustainability & Social Value strategy in close collaboration with internal & external stakeholders, predominately in North Scotland.
- Own target setting to meet NKT group targets.
- Ensure compliant, accurate and timely reporting towards external and internal stakeholders
- Operate a team of highly engaged sustainability specialists.
- Ensure continuous improvements and provide expert support for decision-making
- Assess and mitigate sustainability-related risks in own responsibility area

You have a strategic mindset and the ability to influence others. You are decisive, good at communicating and a self-motivated. Since you will work closely with stakeholders and your team, a collaborative mindset and an ability to build and sustain relations are important. An analytical and innovative mind along with the ability to develop results are key since you will handle complex matters.
You also have:
- Several years of experience developing and implementing sustainability strategies.
- Good knowledge of best practice, key principles, methodologies and measures related to sustainability (particularly in the areas of Carbon Management and Social Value)
- A good business and financial understanding and the ability to provide solutions that meet strategic and operational business needs.
- Robust knowledge of investor-related ESG requirements
- Degree in sustainability or related fields in environmental management, business, marketing or communication.
- Advanced skills in written and spoken English.
