Prepare, plan, engineer and execute the repair of submarine cables
As part of NKT’s Service operations offshore engineering department you will be working in a project team responsible for the preparation of complex repairs from start to finish and you will also contribute in repair execution projects. This role will be based in Rotterdam, but a certain amount of travelling will be involved. You role will be to:
- Developing procedures, method statement, task plans, schedules and other technical documentation for cable repairs (both for repair preparedness as for repair execution) for Repair Vessels and Barges;
- Drafting deck lay-outs for repair vessel / barge;
- Drafting repair charts for platform and landfall pull-ins, cable repairs and cable laying;
- Data Management: maintain as-built data storage of projects;
- Support smaller development and investment projects to help expand NKT’s Offshore Service Operations capabilities and competitiveness;
- Communicate for repair operations with Internal stakeholders, clients and subcontractors during engineering- mobilization and execution phase.
Innovative and collaborative offshore repair project engineer
We are looking for a highly motivated person who will take ownership of their work and deliver a high-quality result according to agreed deadlines. You should thrive in international and stable environments, applying your practical knowledge, social skills, and integrity to diverse projects.
You also have:
- An engineering degree (Marine Engineering / Offshore Engineering / Naval Engineering);
- 3-7 years’ experience with offshore projects;
- Strong understanding of the challenges and associated risks involved when working with offshore construction projects;
- Hands-on, creative and innovative mindset;
- Proficiency in English is required, as are strong written and spoken communication skills.
- Experience from power cable and/or flexible’s installation;
- Willingness to work offshore (repair execution);
- Willingness to travel abroad to local offices, worksites and Clients.
