Develop geospatial solutions for offshore cable projects

As Senior Data Mapping Engineer, you will manage, interpret and visualise offshore survey and geospatial data throughout the lifecycle of offshore cable installation projects. Working closely with project teams, clients, installation specialists and other stakeholders, you will provide high-quality geospatial products that support engineering decisions and project execution. You will also contribute to the development of data and mapping processes, standards and digital tools across NKT's offshore business.

Your responsibility will be to:

• Manage, validate and integrate offshore survey and geospatial datasets.
• Develop and maintain GIS databases and spatial data repositories.
• Produce charts, webmaps and visualisations for engineering and offshore operations, studies and tenders.
• Analyse seabed conditions and survey data to support cable route engineering.
• Support digitalisation initiatives and data-driven engineering solutions.

You will work within NKT's Offshore Engineering team, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, clients and operational stakeholders in an international environment. The role supports offshore projects across NKT's offshore business.

Experienced GIS professional with offshore survey background

You are a structured and self-motivated person who enjoys solving complex challenges through data and collaboration. You communicate clearly with different stakeholders and work effectively within multidisciplinary and international teams. You are detail-oriented, practical in your approach, and motivated by delivering reliable information that supports engineering decisions and project delivery.

You also have:

• A degree in Geomatics, Hydrographic Survey, Survey Engineering, GIS or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in GIS, offshore surveying, hydrography, offshore cartography or related marine engineering activities.
• Experience working with offshore survey datasets, including multibeam bathymetry, side scan sonar, UXO surveys and sub-bottom profiler data.
• Knowledge of geospatial data management and spatial databases.
• Experience supporting engineering or offshore installation projects.
• Experience with ArcGIS Pro, AutoCAD, EIVA NaviModel or AutoChart. Knowledge of Python is seen as a plus.
