Senior Project Manager, Plant Development

 

 

Contribute to renewable energy projects within Europe

NKT is on a growth journey and has acquired SolidAl in Portugal, adding low, medium- and high-voltage capacity to meet the growing demand from grid upgrades and renewable energy projects across Europe. As part of the acquisition, NKT will invest in additional capacity at the existing site. This is why we are expanding our Applications business line. 

Drive and/or participate in the execution of Improvement projects

As a Senior Project Manager within our business line Applications you know how to create a project plan and how to present this in a clear and effective way. In this role, you are responsible to execute the project keeping the promised deliveries, to report on progress and to make sure the project is executed in the most efficient way. You will work closely with various stakeholders such as Operations, Procurement, Engineering and Technology. 
 

Your main tasks will be to:

  • Draft, present and execute (improvement and investment) projects, including the project plan, project tracking and monitoring, project ownership as well as resource steering
  • Be the change driver across sites and facilitate best practice sharing and common standards
  • Drive a culture of openness, identify good practices and leverage your own expertise to find quick wins for improvements in operations

 

You will join an international and collaborating team. Due to the location of the projects we are looking for someone living in the vicinity of Porto, or Esposende, Portugal. Being present at other sites, collaborating with local teams and creating long-lasting internal and external relationships is a key in this role. Occasional international travel is to be expected. 

Experienced project manager 

You bring a positive attitude and have very strong skills in communication and collaboration with various departments and on different hierarchy levels. High level of integrity and professionalism, stakeholder management skills, collaborative approach and the ability of setting priorities is also key for this position. You are able to create a team, care about the team and are result oriented. You can motivate people and enhance enthusiasm for change projects. You also lead by example and pro-actively deal with solving issues. 


You also have:

  • BSc. or MSc. in (Industrial) Engineering or equivalent education
  • Several years of experience in a relevant position within operations 
  • Experience in reconstruction production area and/or new plant development and execution
  • Preference high-level knowledge of operational improvement methodologies, techniques, processes and approaches (e.g. Lean, Six Sigma, etc.)
  • Fluency in English and Portuguese
