Shape insurance strategy for complex energy infrastructure projects

As Senior Project Insurance Specialist, you will provide insurance and contractual advice across NKT's global project portfolio, supporting effective risk allocation, project delivery and protection against significant financial and operational exposures. You will join an international organisation where your work directly contributes to the green transition and the successful execution of critical energy infrastructure projects.

Ensure robust insurance governance across global projects

As Senior Project Insurance Specialist, you will be part of NKT's Group Insurance function and join our dedicated Project Insurance team, consisting of four specialists focused exclusively on supporting NKT's global project business. Together, the Project Insurance team forms part of Group Insurance, a team of six insurance professionals responsible for corporate and project insurance across the NKT Group.

In this role, you will ensure that projects are insured in accordance with NKT's Project Insurance Policy and internal governance framework, while providing practical and commercially focused advice throughout the entire project lifecycle.

Working closely with project directors, engineers, contract managers, business leaders, brokers and insurers, you will assess operational, contractual and commercial risks, determine appropriate insurance strategies and support the placement of project-specific insurance solutions.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Ensuring contracts and insurance programs comply with internal insurance requirements and governance standards
• Advising project teams on contractual obligations, insurance requirements, budgets, risk allocation and mitigation strategies
• Reviewing and negotiating insurance-related provisions within customer contracts and subcontract agreements
• Preparing insurance market submissions and securing appropriate coverage, terms and pricing
• Assessing insurable project risks from operational, contractual and insurance perspectives
• Supporting project teams throughout project execution on insurance-related matters and claims
• Collaborating with colleagues across Group Insurance to continuously strengthen NKT's insurance framework and best practices

This onsite position is based in Copenhagen or Rotterdam and reports to the Director, Head of Group Insurance. The role offers significant exposure across NKT's global project portfolio and involves close collaboration with colleagues across Projects, Legal, Procurement, Finance and Operations. Expected travel is approximately 10-20 days per year.

Experienced project insurance professional with offshore and infrastructure knowledge

We are looking for a commercially minded insurance professional who thrives in a project-oriented environment and understands how insurance, contracts and project execution interact.

You combine strong analytical capabilities with practical judgement and enjoy collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders across technical, commercial and leadership functions. You communicate complex matters clearly, build trusted relationships and help project teams navigate risk in a pragmatic and business-oriented manner.

You also have:

• Experience working with insurance and risk management in project-driven organisations, preferably within offshore, marine, energy, construction or large infrastructure projects
• A solid understanding of how insurance interacts with project execution, engineering, procurement, installation activities and commercial contracts
• Experience reviewing and negotiating contractual insurance requirements and risk allocation provisions
• Experience preparing market submissions and negotiating placements with brokers and insurers
• Knowledge of marine, offshore and construction-related insurance solutions and risk transfer mechanisms
• Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to engage constructively with both technical and commercial audiences

Experience from offshore construction, marine operations, renewable energy projects, cable installation projects or large international infrastructure projects will be considered a significant advantage.
