Senior Financial Controller
Function:  Finance
Job Location (Short):  Karlskrona, Sweden | Malmö, Sweden

Job Description

Manage project accounting and reporting in Karlskrona

Are you an experienced accounting professional with in-depth knowledge of IFRS, Swedish local GAAP and Percentage of Completion accounting? As Senior Finance Controller, you will ensure accurate financial reporting, dependable closing processes and appropriate accounting for long-term manufacturing projects. Based in Karlskrona or Malmö, you will join an international company contributing to the green transition through complex energy infrastructure projects. Would you like to combine detailed SAP accounting with cross-functional collaboration in a project-based environment?

Ensure accurate accounting across projects and manufacturing operations

You will take a hands-on role in financial accounting, statutory reporting and monthly, quarterly and annual closing. Your work will cover IFRS 15 and POC accounting, audit coordination, inventory and manufacturing accounting, financial controls and SAP transactions. You will collaborate with project and production controlling, FP&A, Operations and the Shared Service Center to resolve accounting matters and improve reporting quality. You will also use AI, automation and digital tools to simplify processes and reduce repetitive manual work.

Your responsibility will be to:

  • Manage financial reporting under IFRS and Swedish local GAAP
  • Coordinate statutory and external audits from planning to closure
  • Review POC accounting, project margins, provisions and Estimate-at-Completion assumptions
  • Validate closing entries, reconciliations, inventory movements and manufacturing transactions
  • Improve SAP accounting processes, controls and digital month-end reporting

The position is based in Karlskrona and involves regular collaboration with local and international Finance teams, auditors, project teams and production functions. You will be a central accounting contact across these groups. Any travel requirements will be discussed during the recruitment process.

Hands-on accountant with sound judgement and clear communication

You approach complex accounting matters in a structured and practical way, taking ownership until issues are resolved. You are comfortable working with detailed transactions while keeping sight of their wider financial impact. Your collaborative approach helps you coordinate different stakeholders, and you explain technical matters clearly to colleagues outside Finance. You question incorrect accounting treatments constructively and seek lasting process improvements rather than repeated manual corrections.

You also have:

  • A relevant university degree and approximately eight years of Finance and Accounting experience
  • In-depth knowledge of IFRS, Swedish local GAAP and IFRS 15/POC accounting
  • Hands-on SAP experience, including tracing transactions into financial statements
  • Experience in manufacturing, industrial or project-based accounting environments
  • The ability to understand Swedish and communicate effectively in an international setting
